Migrate from Short.io

CSV Export/Import

Export your Short.io links and import them into EdgeURL with automatic column mapping. Keep your custom slugs and link organization.

Part 1: Export from Short.io

Access Your Short.io Dashboard

Log into your Short.io account and go to your Links dashboard.

Export Your Links

Short.io provides a bulk export feature:

  1. Go to your domain's link list
  2. Click the Export button (usually in the top toolbar)
  3. Choose CSV format
  4. Download the exported file

Note: Short.io exports include columns like "Original URL", "Path", "Title", etc. EdgeURL will automatically map these columns during import.

Prepare Your CSV (if needed)

If Short.io's export format differs, rename your columns to match EdgeURL's format:

Part 2: Import to EdgeURL

Open Import Tool

In your EdgeURL dashboard:

  1. Go to Dashboard Links
  2. Click the Import button
  3. Select CSV File as your import source

Upload and Preview

Upload your prepared CSV file. EdgeURL will display a preview showing:

  • Number of links to import
  • Sample of destination URLs
  • Custom slugs that will be used

Complete Import

Click Import Links to migrate your links. The import will:

  • Create short links preserving your slugs
  • Add unique suffixes for duplicate slugs
  • Import titles and any tags
  • Skip invalid URLs with detailed errors

Troubleshooting

Column Mapping Issues

If columns are not recognized, rename them in your CSV before uploading. The url column is required.

Missing Slugs

If no slug column exists, EdgeURL will generate random slugs for your links. You can edit these after import.

Large Exports

For more than 500 links, split your CSV into multiple files and import them separately.
